How Our Training Works

OUR AIM

Our aim is to see every one of our students rise up out of poverty and flourish, becoming all that they were meant to be. Everything that we do is geared towards this goal.

We provide Opportunities - not charity. Our school is an encouraging, caring and nurturing environment in which everyone can grow. But we expect all our students to grasp hold of the opportunity presented to them, work hard, and invest in themselves so they can succeed.

SeedGROW Training System™

Our SeedGROW Training System™ is a multi-focused approach to vocational training. We believe that simply providing young people with skills training, is not enough to empower them to truly rise up out of poverty. So we combine the 5 core elements shown here in order to provide an integrated multi-faceted vocational education system.

Comprehensive in-depth Vocational Training is combined with work experience and apprenticeships in our Business Enterprises, followed by the opportunity for employment. A Good Environment where they are encouraged, nurtured and respected enables each one to rise up. We work hard to ensure they have the Freedom To Advance - dealing with those things that hinder them. We Nurture Potential, providing each student with the individual attention and support they need in order to succeed.

The Seed Circle

At the core of our training system is the Seed Circle. This is a Peer-To-Peer group managed by the students themselves. When they join the school, we train them how to form themselves into a new Seed Circle, how to organise themselves, and how to work together as a team.

They are taught together as a group, and are responsible together for making sure everyone in the group progresses and succeeds. The Seed Circle provides a safe environment in which our students learn to work together, to organise themselves, to support each other, to develop positive social attitudes, and to open up about themselves to others.

FIVE STREAMS OF TRAINING

Our students experience 5 integrated streams of training, providing a comprehensive and holistic approach. This ensures that they get the best possible opportunity to flourish.

All of these streams are woven into learning to work and grow together in their Seed Circles, as they help and support each other to succeed.
